Long week. I was supposed to have a little time off this week, but it didn't work out so well. My job share partner is sick with the flu. On Tuesday she texted me to let me know that she was at home with a temp of 103. I talked to her on Wednesday and she ended up in the emergency room with a temp of 104.7. She definitely has the flu and was told to quarantine herself. Lots of fluids and Tylenol. When she is temp free for 24 hrs she can come back to work. But she says she has no energy. She doesn't work until Tues but don't know if she will be back then. Hoping she doesn't have H1N1 or pneumonia. Her brother stopped in today and she has been really sick, their mom has been helping with the little one that is 2.
So the regular week is done, just have Saturday left to do and then next week too.
I was supposed to have Thur off to take Dad to Dr appts. and they let me leave from 9-1 to take care of that. His eye looks good and he does not have to follow up there, unless he has problems. Then had his blood tested because of blood thinners and that was okay also. Thumbs up all around.

Back to work

I had the weekend off. We went to Des Moines on Saturday for a cyclocross race at Altoona. Then to the Quad Cities for another race on Sunday. The temperatures were supposed to be in the 40's-50's but with that wind blowing it was a little chilly. I took a few pictures of Paul's race on Saturday and then Paul took a few of Carl's race. On Sunday they raced at the same time so I took some pictures of the racers.
Long weekend for me, lots of walking and paid for it yesterday, felt like I got hit by a truck. Not too bad today, still have a backache and feet still hurt.
Working tomorrow for my job share partner, Amy. She is home sick running a temp of 103. Not good. Doctor told her to stay home.

End of my work week

It is Veterans Day and the end of my work week. Another week gone.

Wednesday

Happy Hump Day...the week is half over.
I was up early and was out the door by 8 to go to Dad's. He was up and eating breakfast. That was a plus. I had scheduled someone to come out to empty the septic tank and I knew that if I was not there, Dad would be outside. With a temperature of 35, I didn't think that was a good thing.
I was called out to the house last night and had to run the washer to get the drains to run. This means the toilet would not flush. Home by 9 pm.
So Mike was coming out to clean out the septic tank around 8.30 and he was there a little early. Steven and I had decided it would be a good idea to have it cleaned out, before we called a plumber and before the ground freezes. The blockage was caused by a lot of roots in there. This caused the intake to be blocked, which caused a flow problem. It needed to be pumped though, it is a 1000 gal tank and it was full. The problem has been fixed and that is great. We have water flowing through the pipes.
After Mike left, I dried a load of laundry and put another load in the washer, folded sheets and did a little general pick up of the house. Home by 12.
I don't think we will have to replace the toilet right now, which is good. I don't really feel like dealing with a plumber right now. I have enough to do at my own house, which does not get done when I am at Dad's.
